Testimonials

I was extremely nervous talking to Shane about some of my past behaviour in my Sex and Love addiction. While I feared reproach by him having never spoken honestly about my problem, I came to understand Shane over time as a very safe, kind, consistent and accepting force in my life that in a strange way started to unfold those same qualities within me.

I am a gay, Black African migrant. It is hard to find people who can empathize with my life circumstances. Despite having a different background to me, Shane is able to empathize with my life circumstances. Shane created a safe space for me to work through my trauma. I love that from day 1, he creates the space for me to be responsible for my own recovery and try on different things. I grew up in a shame based culture so creating a space for permission to try has been instrumental to my recovery. What are some of the things, Shane has helped me through practically? My whole life: financial issues, navigating asking for my needs to be met in a relationship and much more. My life has more joy, more peace, more possibilities. This is a great treasure. Thank you Shane.

Shane has been an incredible support on my journey. His genuine care, empathy, and wisdom have helped me know and love myself in ways I did not think possible. He has a unique ability to hold space with compassion, allowing me to process my experiences without judgment and to share my truest self without fear. Shane’s help has been life-changing, and I’m grateful for the resilience and vulnerability I’ve found through working with him.

Shane brings a highly informed and unique perspective to recovery. He creates a safe space and the vulnerability and reassurance he provides enables his clients to be vulnerable and share their deepest fears. His ability to listen intently means he exercises great judgement on when to be firm or compassionate as his clients require. He has a special way of normalising situations, clearing the shame, making the client feel "ok" and even "good" about sharing something that previously seemed impossible to share. He shows a vested interest in helping his clients deal with the hard feelings and as a result be able to better feel the good ones.
